I couldn't do that!  My list of "what I need" would be a blank scrap of paper, while my list of "what I want" would be the size of the Lancaster phone book!    But I can see where that would be the sensible thing to do!

Seriously though, the fun for me is just wandering down aisle after aisle, not knowing what I'm going to find, and maybe seeing something cool and fun that I never knew existed.

I must be the odd-ball. My usual York purchases are about $80. total. My "Best Buy Ever" was a large cardboard "Chistmas Village/Putz" house made in Japan in the 1930s. Got it for $20., and the going rate is $90.-$110. for one this size and condition.

However, I'm terrified I'll see a Lionel He*l Gate bridge for less than $300.

Last meet (Y10/11) I broke my record. Went Thursday, went through the entire meet and wound up buying only 4 pieces of Gargraves for a shelfware expansion. Not that I wasn't prepared. That will be the last time I will go on a Thursday.

For this meet, I am  expecting to practice the discretionary discipline that I preach. It will be Friday, and although just as capable ... I actually expect to spend less this year...  for toy trains. There are far too many attractive alternatives for my toy train dollar.

I fully expect that Y04/13 & Y10/13 will be a different story.
