I didn't order the new Lionel VISION Big Boy, but Last of the Giants remains perhaps my favorite historical railroad videos, not just discussing the Big Boy, but also the history of articulated engines and their impact on the railroad itself, especially when you realize how rather short their existence were on the Union Pacific...

That is due to the lower grade of coal the UP used, west of Cheyenne. Pretty much all the coal fired 3900s and 4000s smoked fairly heavily ascending Sherman Hill. Then there was always the "enhancement" of heavy smoke for that company photographer filming the UP produced movie.
