Found Anything This York?

I got a parking spot 2 rows directly across from the front door of Orange Hall. 

 

I had a nice conversation with Mike Wolfe about HO trains, spoke to the Biancos at length about things in the hobby (they are a forum sponsor via Train Land/Train World), Enjoyed chatting with Paul and Marcia Johnson (owners of Catoctin Mountain Trains and Hobbies in Thurmont, MD), and was floored when the folks at Bachmann asked me what I thought about the blue tooth product they now have and they seemed interested in my opinions.  And I brought a 'guest' to the show - a friend I have known for about 43 years. 

 

I know that is not specific train stuff I brought home (did get a few items), but the above are the things of most value to me.

The Lionel UP Vision Line Challenger wasn't hard to find. It sat on the front table entering my booth until Friday morning when an attorney from Virginia scooped it up.
       

I saw about 4 of those Lionel Challengers in different locations.  Very nice.

I came home with the Chessie Special T1 and  great B&o MTH Premier Madison set from Vince's too. 

Btw, did anyone see a better selection and more locomotives, at the show than that which Vince' Trains had? I unpacked more trains this year than ever before! Great job, Vince!

Saw three Prewar #203 0-6-0 semi-scale switchers (don't often see any, or more than just one), and bit the bullet and bought one @1:00 on Saturday. Now I'm going to agonise over changing the tender trucks to Postwar so I can use it on my layout. But, I should always have such picayune problems. Had a pretty good York, sold most of what I came with (my folks are quite happy with their take). Looking forward already to Spring.

Now I know how those trucks & couplers on the pre-war switchers get changed to post-war.

While I wouldn't do it, the train is yours, you should do whatever would give you the most pleasure owning it.

Addition to my "haul" posted earlier - I've always had a "thing" for the BNSF paint/color scheme. I sold my BNSF engine a year or two ago since it didn't fit in with my local theme and am wanting something BNSF again. Was looking for this car at York but no luck. Ordered one from Western Depot earlier this afternoon. Also, a few dealers had the MTH Railking Imperial BNSF ES44 for sale and some had them on display at their booths....it took a LOT for me NOT to take one home! Those were beautiful!

I recently made a gift of two #203's to a friend. One completely restored the other was a beautiful C-7. My now Ex-Friend converted (butchered) the original..Go Figure!

Hmmm... Maybe I should just find a #TT-100 Prewar/Postwar Coupler Adapter for my #203 - wouldn't want to be shunned here by my fellow Forumites .

 

That's not a bad thought, though. I wouldn't have to change a thing. Does anyone make a reproduction of that part?
