I have the 2012 catalog Lionel Water Level Freight with the 2797 New York Central Mohawk. My home layout has 2 loops. Inner: O54, outer: O45.
The Mohawk is rated for O54 track. I inadvertently ran it on my inner O45 loop. It ran fine! Smooth as anything! Through 10 Atlas O O45 switches, too!

I've noticed mine goes through 0-48. Never tried 45 though. Interesting, and thanks

I have run 054 thru 048 Fastrack mostly without issues. Sometimes backing thru a switch, etc. can be an issue.
My early 90's version goes around my 19 1/2" radius or 39" dia. at the center rail. You can hear the flanges but it doesn't slow down or cause any alarm.
