Just a heads up. On all the Southern Pacific Lines cars that are lettered for the Texas and New Orleans there is a slight goof.
Reporting marks are TN&O by mistake. They should be T&NO.
Otherwise they are beautiful cars.
What is the prototype for a 17 inch car? What is it? Is it a 60 ft car, a 70 ft car, and 80 ft car or something else?

Simple math comes up with 68 feet, which I believe is, according to GGD's original announcements/advertisements, 68 feet over the couplers. Thus, it is a 60 foot car.
The coach was called a 60' coach because it had a nominal 60' of seating area. The overall length of the car was closer to 68'-69'. This is why the Scott fudged on the 70' RPO and Baggage since the overall length of the prototypes was close to 70' end to end.
This is just one example of the different types of shorter round roof Harrimans from the Kratville and Ranks book:
It's Union Pacific Equipment. GGD based the models off of SPs Harrimans but you get the idea. UP actually ran many more 70' and 72' coaches which were closer to 80' over each buffer.

Scott was clear in the pre-sale material on their dimensions, what he couldn't show us was how spectacular they would be on arrival with fantastic tooling and great paint work.
These not available still as individual cars? Guess there will be set breakups eventually.
I appreciate Scott adding the capacitor for flicker free lighting, so I don't have to. And the extensive underbody detail.
I embelished mine a little. Attached is a photo of mine after it has been prepped for the layout: Weathered, wheels painted, couplers rusted, roof treated, and windows replaced with microscope cover slips.

They've always been available as individual cars and are still available on the website.
Please do anther run of the Reading cars, missed them last run.
