I was wondering if anybody has ordered one of the GGD coaling tower and how they fit on your layouts?
I would like to read your opinions and experience with that ABS kit. If you have pictures of the tower fitting on your layout, I think we would all appreciate seeing them.

We have one and it's great. I'd have to search for a photo but it really wouldn't add to the great examples already posted. It's a great addition to a coal-driven steam locomotive facility. The first photo in BobbyD's post shows a shed over the car unloading track. That doesn't come with the tower, but is a nice addition. Essentially, the tower functions like a grain elevator, except it's coal instead of wheat (and fortunately no big explosions).

quality is great and while my layout is far from complete, i put with a virginian triplex beneath it
the scale of the two pieces was complimentary
it is a large piece, but if you are running bigger steam engines, it is a nice addition

I purchased one and it arrived yesterday. It is just as advertised. I will post pictures soon.
It will be set up so that 1:48 coal will be unloaded under the tower instead of behind it.
