I was exchanging emails yesterday with Scott Mann and I asked if there was any info on the delivery of the El Cap.  He stated that the container is scheduled to arrive in Oakland on June 6th.  He expects it to take 10 days to clear customs.  He scheduled 5 days for sorting and boxing the orders.  Then the sets/cars will begin shipping.

That means that it is possible the sets may arrive on our doorsteps as early as June 25.  WOW, that means Christmas is coming 6 months early this year.  Time to start think about setting up the tree.

This means you can't open the box until December 25th. Santa will know if you do.

Brian, I am gonna try and be a really good boy for the next five weeks, that has got to count for something.

Lima, I wil post some videos, but it will not be until the first week of August.  Our train club is closed for the month of July for clean-up and mild renovations.  Our first open house and runs are Aug 1 & 2.

Sorry, I did not ask about the F7's.

Not me!  I'm an adult, so I can open my set when it arrives, and wish myself a Merry Christmas!  I eat dessert first, too.

After seeing the sample at York, I can hardly wait!

When the El Capitan arrives, I won't care what I get in my stocking at Christmas!  Even if I don't have my track work finished, I'll just push them back and forth on a section.

But for today, I'm settling in my seat in DC waiting for the first pitch between my Phillies vs the Nationals. And I'll still be thinking about the El Capitan set!

GO PHILLIES!!  Go Santa Fe!!

Wow, are those all fans who have free days?

Or are they government employees who should be at work doing something productive?

With the shape the country is in Sundays off have been revoked!

Last game we attended the actual amount of spectators was so low don't think they dared announce the "paid" attendance. They could (should?) have closed the upper deck and there would have still been room to move. Did see 1 roving vendor up there.

Anyone know how large the ball park model is on the Carnegie layout?

Talked with my dealer today.  They are really happy I chose to pick up my El Capitan set at the store so they can see them in person.

That ballgame road trip is the last planned trip for a good while, they way the Phils are playing! (Except for home & home series against the Orioles next week with forum member Craignor)

In the same post as the El Cap update Scott also revealed his methos for plating the Santa Fe F-units to be released in the fall.

Here is a shot of a nickel plated sheet installed. We will of course tone it down a bit with some overspray.

Congrats.  It looks like Scott (aka Santa) has selected you to receive the first gift of half-way to Christmas.  You'll find it hard to sleep tonight.

Me and 6,000 of my closest friends will be waiting for your pictures.

Thanks Brian.  I understand completely.  I was happy for all the guys getting their Big Boys last Christmas.

It should be fun.  My first chance to run and get pictures will be about the middle of July.  Our club is having a midnight run (members only) not open to the public.  A chance to see all the buildings, signs, engines and cars running under very low lighting conditions.
