The Greenberg Train show is one of the last remaining large shows in the area. Its still a decent show but in recent years vendors that sell toys, dolls, HO  and other items have infiltrated the vendors. I find that this show has some of the best prices of all the shows. It has survived the online onslaught that has eliminated most of the other train shows and the rapidly changing demographic of those that buy the trains. Last time I was there there were a number of dealers selling out and collectors that were retiring and selling off their collections

Thanks John. Still have your contact info and will give you a call. Don't have anything as big as what you guys do but you are certainly welcome to stop by and see my scratch built 14' x28' layout.  Not sure if we will make the Edison show but if we do, we will stop by to say hello.

Well, it certainly was an interesting day. I was there with two friends and while I was looking at something else my friends stopped in front of a table where a guy was selling subscriptions to the Star-Ledger newspaper. This guys table is to the far left just two or three rows in after you walk through the main doors. Immediately, the guy said, "You guys have to leave. You're blocking my table." So one of my friends started to walk away but my other friend had just put his bags down so he could get a drink of water. Then the guy says, "Move out of the way!" My friend just wanted to take a drink of water and then move on. Mind you NO ONE was trying to get to this guys table. So my friend says, "You need to settle down!" Then guy gets out of his chair so fast that the chair quickly slides far away. Next thing you know both guys are yelling and all the people in the area move backwards. He actually at one point threatened my friend. This guy was wound really tight. Why he thought he was going to make a lot of money selling newspaper subscriptions at a train show I will never know.

About 15 minutes before this happened I walked by this guys table and (surprise, surprise no one was at the table) I couldn't help overhear him talking and he was saying, "Do you know how much it costs me to give these things [umbrellas] away?"

I doubt anything will come of it but we did report him to the people running the show.

This was definitely a first for me. I guess even at train shows there can be an argument.

I did notice a few dealers missing this time Gryzboski's wasn't there and B&B Hobby Supplies (the tool guy) and my friend noticed  the guy that sold Russian Jewelry wasn't there (not that any of us train guys would care!).

They were a few people selling a lot of helicopters and drones.

It was good to see Ted and Steve there. Steve upgraded my DCS, thanks again Steve!

All in all a good time was had by all, Now I'm ready for York.

Must have been a wknd. for arguing & disagreement. The trouble with the Star Ledger guy was not the only problem that wknd. There was one amongst a couple of dealers before show, specifically on Friday night. Might have been a couple of Irish guy's celebrating St. Paddy's day with fisticuffs (ha ha). Don't get me wrong I love the Irish being of Italian descent. It was an Irishman (Tom Walsh) who got me started, again, in the hobby. And, there was some commotion else where that I witnessed in the center that was pretty heavy. Let's all come to the show with the hobby in mind and leave the the B.S. behind. It is better to walk away from the confrontation, which will frustrate the other individual to no end, being that he thinks he WON the disagreement, than address it. The only exception is if that person gets physical. "Two people fight, nobody wins" A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still. Let it rest, and enjoy the show!
