Ha Ha ..... Whoops!

I hope you realize that the smoke, when working properly is oil vapor that you are depositing all over your carpet. it will act like glue to dirt and dust. just sayin'

in my home the carpet is doomed thanks to the kids ( 4 & 7 ) - 2 dogs - 1 cat  and dad with the trains.

Exactly what happened?  Was it low smoke fluid level?  Or did the smoke unit just short out?  Too high of voltage?

If that is a device with a smoke voltage regulator, it's a good bet that the regulator failed and you'll be replacing all those parts again if you don't replace the regulator board.

Edit: I looked at the video, the Hot Box Reefer does have a smoke regulator, it's probably shorted.

so what had happened was -   track had power via DCS Commander, I put the car on the tracks and the smoke unit started to operate on its own. This was probably my first warning that I ignored but I was too impressed with the smoke output. 1:22 later the nice Christmas scented smoke smell turned into that "uh oh" smell. All in good fun.

I think the part number for the board I need is 691-FSMR-B01 - not sure about the fill tube or regulator though.

You'll likely also need the smoke regulator.

This is the smoke unit in the Hot Box Reefer, I don't see the board listed separately.  This one has a 6 ohm resistor, so I think your part may be incorrect.

Several bystanders of various species seem to have been overcome by the vapor. And was the Corvette always that color? Things like that are why, to this day, I'm not a Chevy guy.

Some major "smoke", though - for sure.

We had a Legacy 10-wheeler smoke regulator die at our club, it went into the long tunnel with normal smoke, and it came out like it was on fire!  I only wish I had had a camera at the ready for the exit, for the 15 seconds or so before we shut it down, it was the most impressive smoker I'd ever seen!  I had to replace not only the smoke regulator, but also the smoke PCB, resistor, and wick.  Weeks later when the engine ran, I could still smell the stink of burnt fiberglass.

My MTH 0-8-0 did that from the rear of the tender in a lash up after uncoupling cars. was a cool effect but the PS3 board was history. Insulator for the electro rear coupler was mounted backwards causing the axle to short out the coupler soldered terminals.

Had a Hudson Jr shoot a 4 inch flame out the stack going up a grade on my layout. Wish I had a video going for each one. 

You never have the camera handy when one of these great visual effects is happening.

I'd rather have smoke units pumping out pollution.It smells good and you can always rent a carpet cleaning machine once every five years even if it is still clean.

Sorry that happened to you, but that video is kinda funny.
