Remember our living and deceased veterans during your long weekend and thank them for their service. Attending a local parade is one of the best ways to make them feel appreciated. Hang out that flag too, she's a little rough around the edges, but I bring out my 48-star as often as I can to show my support.

Wish I could be in Washington DC this weekend for the "Ride to the Wall" but I have other work obligations. My brothers in the Patriot Guard Riders will be there in full force as they have been for many years. I did manage to send flowers to Panel 06E, where the soldier on my POW bracelet, John Wayne Lafayette of Waterbury, VT is  located on Line 90. Have visited him dozens of times during the annual pilgrimage.

Enjoy our freedoms, given to us by veterans of all conflicts, from all generations, from the Greatest Generation of WWII to today.

Jim I know you mean well and the meaning of Memorial day gets morphed into other celebrations.

I too am a MC rider/Vet and our organization travels to DC to be escorts for this Rolling Thunder sponsored Event. I was the Vet Rep for a Star Riding and Touring group in North Jersey for 6 years.

Memorial Day is dedicated to the ones that gave their life's for our country.

Armed forces day is May 16th and that day is to celebrate the current solders that are currently active.

Veterans day is November 11 and that day is for our veterans.

Anyway enjoy the Holiday and please, take a moment on this day to that all those who gave their lives for this country and our freedom.

Thanks, Ron. I tend to get a little caught up in the moment when commenting about this subject. As a member of PGR NY region 5, we escort many heroes to their final resting place. We also act as escorts on Patriot Flights that fly WWII and Korean Vets to DC at no cost to them, to visit their respective memorials. But I also ride in this group with heroes too, so I get carried away about thanking them whenever possible as well.
