Hey all,

I was thinking about buying a kit from forum sponsor Harry Hieke and had some questions regarding his kits: was hoping y'all would be able to aid me in answering my questions. Are his kits tough to build, does it require "advanced" model building skills, do they require painting and if so, what type of paint? In addition, if anybody has any of his models, I would love to see pictures.

Regards,

Greg

I have two Hieke creations on our club layout in Farmingdale NY. The first structure which is not a kit , the Empire State building, started from a simple build out from a base structure I brought to him and turned into the empire state building, this does not come in kit form. The second building is the propeller factory which is a kit, Since funds were available we had Harry build it and I drove to his home for a pick up. I did not feel I had the modeling skills or time to build it myself. Harry has told me that with his kits come complete instructions. If you elect to build  yourself Harry would surely help you through any questions during your build. Check out his youtube channel by either Everythingoscale or harryhieke

Steve,

I was not aware that there was a club out in Farmingdale. That's not too far from where I live and would love to check out the layout. I found his Youtube channel a few months back and was blown away with the structures he builds. I knew about his custom painting ability, but his buildings are something else.

My email is in my profile here on the forum. Contact me and we can arrange a time.

BTW we have an open house  on weekend of May 21 / 22 noon to 4pm. That would be an optimal time to come check out our 4,000 SqFt layout

Steve,

I was looking at your club website. All I can say is WOW.  Unfortunately, up until around August, I have no free time what so ever. However, I will for sure shoot you an email when the time comes closer to see if we can arrange something. I really appreciate your help.

Regards,

Greg
