I have not--and it's almost killing me.  Foolishly, in hindsight, I agreed to open presents with neighbors at 11:00 here in Atlanta--I'll be traveling later today to visit family.  Yes, there are gifts I bought but haven't opened as they came delivered from the vendors; and, there are several that will be surprises.  I want to open them all right now, but a deal is a deal with my neighbors, and I'll wait the next 1 hour, 55 min., and 12 sec., but not one second more.

Have you opened yours, yet?

Yes....we did so late yesterday afternoon as this is the traditional time my wife and I have our Christmas together.  Christmas Day is so busy going to various family gatherings that we found Christmas Eve to be better for "us time"....

Hey Jack...get off the computer and give yourself a break!! (and us too!)  Enjoy Christmas buddy!

Alan

Nope.  10AM and I am the only one up yet, although my oldest son left around 5AM to go deer hunting.  Enjoying a cup of coffee, some chocolate chip cookies and The Horse Soldiers with John Wayne.

Quite a difference from when my boys were all young.  I can recollect a number of Christmases where my wife and I didn't get to bed till 3AM and at 3:10AM there would be an excited little boy at my side of the bed telling me Santa Claus had come!

Santa   came up the driveway yesterday afternoon disguised as a UPS driver and handed a big box to Elizabeth. She quickly scurried away and wrapped it up.

I knew when I opened the big box this morning it must be Santa because of the timing of getting a fantastic Daylight Cab Forward in time for Christmas Day. Thanks to you Santa, Lionel, and Charles Ro for a wonderful Christmas Gift.

Prime rib, smoked turkey, wild blueberry pie, Saunders hot fudge on vanilla bean ice cream. Those were the presents.

For us anyhow. There was a blur of movement that may have been a young girl opening presents, I think might have been my niece, as I did hear a wee voice asking about Mimi's trains, and saw a Barbie dressed as a Girl Scout dancing before my face, but when I looked again, zzzzip  whooosh, gone, only paper remained.

(the folks & lil' Bro were both too sick, or just couldn't set a train up this year, she's was very disappointed so is coming to run um here this week now)

We were so busy with grandkids opening their gifts and dinner for the whole family, my wife and I didn't get a chance to open our gifts yesterday.  So, we're celebrating Boxing Day.

Just opened mine.... Gold PE Berk, two coaches and the obs car!

And, my sons gave me a DJI Phantom!  Aerials of the gold PE coming, hehe.

Best of all was spending the day with our four children and five grandkids.  Chaotic but terrific.

I got my mother , father , sister , bro.inlaw ,both nephews , 1nephews daughter , my brother and sister inlaw presents. Put the santa suit on everyone took pictures. We ate dinner they all left I cleaned up the dishes and went into the living room to sit down. I asked my dad where my presents were from everyone and he said that no one thought that you (being on limited income) were going to have money to buy anything for any one so no one got you anything! Hope everyone else had A good Christmas? Choo Choo Kenny P.S. Happy New Year

I've been in the same boat Kenny, to poor to buy for a year or two, they stopped. But then I had money, and I splurged for many years. Now its gone, but I still buy a few gifts each year. Not decided by "who I like" or price, but what I see shopping that I think belongs at their home, i.e. the item makes me think of them, out of the blue. For a few years now, I got only one gift from anyone, despite arriving with arms full a jar of Saunders hot fudge from Mom (that I still shared with everyone because I like smiles). That may sound selfish in a way, but Its not an evenness that I want, it's participation in the event besides watching. Some Canadian relatives don't do presents on Christmas, they just meet, pray, and eat. Presents are for boxing day.

My 11 year old knew he had train stuff coming from me and SANTA!!

I let him open my stuff at Christmas Eve. In the Italian Tradition Christmas Eve is celebrated with the 7 fishes. Afterwards we go to midnight mass and can open some presents afterwards.

I gave Joey 3 MTH RR cars one was one of the working caboose scale size!! so was the Strausburg Crane car followed up with a Illinois Central Hopper car all scale size really cool!!!!!!!!!
