K-Line Conoco tank car K-639104

This model is a Conoco CONX 1112 tank car made by K-line in China. The car has a plastic body and cast metal underframe with full brake detail and sprung trucks. It includes a display track. The lettering on the car is very complete. The lettering on the car shows a built date of 1921.  See photos.

Lettering on the car body as follows:

"TankTested 9-1934 Pressure 60#sq in at Kansas City Plant"

Those were packaged so they could be run on a layout, displayed on the track provided, and/or used as piggy banks. You can see the coin slot at one end. I think the idea was that a kid would put the car and display track on his dresser or bookcase and use it as a bank. I don't think they are actually scale models; they are on the same basic mold as K-Line's traditional size tank car. As I recall, there were a couple of other cars done this way but the Conoco tanker was the most common. I used to have one, but the coin slot kind of bugged me and I sold it.
