I could never camp out for the York Meet.  Worrying about precipitation would make me feel kind of .... tense.

If you buy the right tent, you will never feel tense in your tent.

I spent $50 at Walmart for my 3 man tent. I wouldn't want to squeeze three people in it, but it was enough for me. Anyway, I was worried about rain, so I set up the tent in the back yard, and took the hose to it. The ground got good and soggy, and I sprayed directly at all the seems, as well as sprayed all over as "rain". I got one drop of water inside, and I watched that fall from the outside when I opened the door. It didn't leak in the real rain at York, even after having water freeze on it.

The only issue was the strong wind the first few days (that was a nasty York, weather wise. Many people told me it was the worst they could remember). It was actually blowing my tent to the point it would lay down on the left side! I had to tie it to my car.
