I wonder how I overlooked this, the Menards Gas Station is available again.

Missed out on availability in the past.  It is tempting, but now that real estate on the layout is so dear can I find a suitable place?

Good Morning Guys,

We had a few of our "Sold Out Online" buildings transferred back to our distribution center so we could sell them online easier. I believe the Red Owl store is now purchasable as well.

These are very limited quantities, so much so that I believe the gas station is sold out once again.

Mark, is there any possibility that the gas station may be produced again? I know it is a long shot, but I must have missed that offering the first time around since I do not recall it. It is a great looking station for us who model the small town 40's and 50's era.

Yes Mark. How about a small run again. Rick, I missed the first run and then I missed this last time. My computer messed up and by the time I got it going they were gone again.......Paul

Rick and Paul,

The gas station was produced in collaboration with Woodland Scenics.

In recent years, we've been focusing on producing our own line buildings and rolling stock. As long as WS is producing the gas station, there is an option to reissue this building, but I think it is unlikely at this time.

Mark,

If possible from a financial perspective new issues are better than re-issues that aggravate and annoy those who purchased an item when it came out. Even worse if it has more features. Look at threads where Lionel re-issued the same steam engine 3 times with each re-release an "upgrade" of the original. Those whose purchase covered the tooling feel betrayed. Make us some new cool stuff!

Hello Mark, the Menards guy:  I got the seed and feed for Christmas.  The web site says there is a control switch for the lights.  It is certainly well hidden.  Where is it?

POTRZBE,

That is pretty much the only flaw that building has. The button is very well hidden.

You'll find the button near the truck, under the Purina sign.

Yeah, the WS one is exactly the same except the signs.

As for a footprint, my wife bought me one of these for Christmas when I was still building my layout as I'd said I needed a store structure like this (it's now the only pre-built structure I have on my layout as most of them are scratchbuilt). As much of that structure is incorrect for a WW2-era layout, I removed the entire fenced side, the overhead sign, and all the 'junk' around the sides (as nothing like that would be seen in an era of scrap drives for the war effort) as well as almost all the signs (replacing them with signs more correct for the companies for pre-war era in the TN/NC area). I would up removing at least a third of the structure and I like how it turned out:

It's not a flaw if it is so well designed!  Thanks, Mark the Menards guy.  This is my third building and I love 'em all!

Yep! Not a flaw at all, well hidden easy access. We just need a guide to find stuff
