Do you thing these will stay in production or has Lionel built all they intend to for the first round of Lionchief Plus steamers?

J Don Reese, in the Notch 6 podcast, said the next run of steam locos with Lion Chief Plus will be new road names. The same for the diesels. If sales continue to be promising, additional varieties of locomotives will be offered. My interpretation is what is out there is all that will be out there for the near term. I wouldn't count on them being rerun in the current road names any time soon.
I think only Lionel knows for sure......as long as they are selling well I don't see them stopping......if sales slow....new roadnames and/or paint schemes. I doubt any member here NOT working for Lionel knows.

Many are looking forward to that. The are lots of nice MPC/LTI era engines that can be added to the LC roster.
While not a new variety, it was interesting to note the addition of a dummy unit with the new LCCA LC Plus GP7 set announcement.
The Lionchief Sets seem to be a huge hit with everyone from kids to modelers,but they also IMO are the best set you can buy for the money, I'm sure they will release new sets/locos at some point.
If you see something you like I'd buy it. Otherwise you may be disappointed. It's good to hear that there will be other locomotives offered.
