How can a "Y" track arrangement be built using MTH Real Trax? I would much appreciate hearing from someone who has built a "Y" using Real Trax to learn what track pieces I  need to do it.

The "Y" track will be used to turn passenger trains made up of seven 13-inch Rail King passenger cars.Y Track Arrangement

Once when building a tight track plan I went to a our LHS and told the owner I need X amount of track  and switches and I was not sure exactly what I needed.,  He allowed me to construct the track plan using all kinds of pieces not normally thought to go together and it worked perfectly.  He made a big sale, I purchased no unused pieces.  Win-win!

Why do you want to turn the whole train?  How about just the engine as it will save much space.

Here is the track arrangement:

The curves are all O72 RealTrax - each leg has one O72 half curve.  The straights are all 10" except for one 3.5".  Switches are all O72.   Straights come in 10" and 30" lengths so just add however many you need to fit the length of your train.

As Greg posted you can as the "Y" is also O72, the leg is going to be very long to fit that train on it.

You can also accomplish it with a 1/2 circle off the lead so the long leg is parallel, though it will start 6' away!!

I need to turn passenger trains because they run into one-ended terminal tracks, and each train has a road engine and an observation car. The "Y" enables me to back trains into the terminal so they are ready to depart in the same makeup as they arrived.

Greg, thanks for posting the solution I was looking for. I also thank everyone else who replied. Merry Christmas!
