I believe there’s a way, using the CAB-2, to ensure that an engine starts in the desired direction, a function that would be handy when you can’t see the engine’s headlight or backup light. But--I can’t remember what it is.
Do you know how to do this?

Push down on the direction button and push it forward for forward and push down and pull it back for reverse.
From page 21 of the current manual...
1. Press the Multi-Controller straight down
2. While holding it down, roll (push) it up
3. Direction will be Forward
4. Press the Multi-Controller straight down
5. While holding it down, roll(pull) it down
6. Direction will be Reverse
