How to wire fastrack switches to MTH AIU

I think that's what I just said, right?   That is correct.  You can use a bi-polar (2-lead) RED/GREEN LED between the yellow and black with a 220 ohm resistor to give you switch position indication feedback if desired.  This would be nice on a layout diagram to see where all the switches are positioned.

I have been researching these LEDs (let me preface with am only 1/3 of the way through Electronics for Dummies....) and am running into AC/DC issues/questions and general confusion.  Let me just ask is there a specific LED you recommend?  I am looking to wire them at the control panel between the AIU and the Fastrack switches.  Switches will be wired through accessory power.  Thanks.

You want a bi-polar 2 wire LED and a 220 ohm resistor.  Here's an eBay Bi-Polar LED, the first one my search came to.   You can also get them from almost any major electronics supply, just make sure they're the RED/GREEN and they're 2-wire LEDs.

Hi  I am still a newbie when it comes to the DCS system so hopefully someone is able to help me with my problem. 

I am trying to get lionel fastrack switches (O-36) to work through my MTH DCS system as well and I can't get the switch to throw.  I have it wired according to the diagrams in the DCS O gauge Companion(see below).  I have it hooked up to a MTH z-1000 transfer to use aux power.  I removed the jumper.  I can hear the AUI switching when i press the buttons on the remote but the switch won't throw. There is power to the switch as it lights up.   Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How many volts are you getting from Aux in to Aux Ground at the switch?

You need at least 12 VAC.

You didn't color the wires to the AIU so I am assuming you followed the color codes given above.

Similar to Nick (Fedorchak) above my Fastrack switch setup with the AIU was working for a short period of time and now is not working.   I can hear the AUI click when I press the button on the remote and the light on the switch blinks but the switch won't throw any more.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check for a loose wire, under the fastrack switch, at any terminal blocks you may have in the circuit, and at the AIU. If it used to work, then a loose wire may be the cause. Wires come loose like black magic.

Also throw the switch by hand to be sure there isn't a mechanical bind in the switch (a piece of ballast or scenery can do this)
