I broke the reed switch on one of my Atlas F3's. At the time it happened track power was off. I also cleaned the glass debris and disconnected the cables, but I don't know if it's safe to run it without it. I know it's used for resetting the engine, but is there a risk in running the engine without it? Thanks for the help.

Probably safe.  One of my Sunset FT's was dead (or at least sick with trouble DCC programming) on arrival.  It ended up being a bad reed switch and all I had to do is disconnect the reed switch.  Luckily on the Sunset FT's the reed switch is hooked up with a connector.  Sunset sent a new reed switch but I have not replaced it.  I don't know if the Atlas's are set up the same way.
