I can attest that they are weatherproof..with the proviso the power to the rails is safely installed as a former resident of Illinois. There are a lot of videos showing them plowing the snow off the rails..which is a wholly different level of "realism"if you don't mind your fingers falling off from frostbite.

You might try Star Hobby, in Annapolis, MD.

Their website isn't worth a darn, but give them a call (number is listed on their home page).  Owned by a friend of mine.  Mention my name as the one who referred you and you may get either a discount or a higher price.

I didn't check, but you should also try Trainworld (forum sponsors/supporters).  They always have good prices on the G stuff they have in stock, and they stock a lot of it.

Follow-up:  I just checked Trainworld's site and they have a ton of them in various roadnames, w/sound or without, etc.

I saw several in stock at Caboose Hobbies, in Denver, on Saturday.

I also have large scale trains but don't have any track down yet.  We have quite a bit of nice landscaping around our yard so I plan some day to put track down and what the trains go through their paces...

About 25 years ago, before I heavily got back into O gauge, I had quite a bit of LGB.

Wound up selling most of it, but did keep two starter sets for use at the Holidays.

Keeps the cats amused under the  tree.

Curious if anyone runs G with O on the same layout. I have contemplated doing this in the past.

It would be somewhat similar to running both O gauge and Standard Gauge on the same layout.  Certainly can be done, but the size discrepancy will definitely be obvious if/when the two sizes are running in close proximity to each other.

Yes...I would want to run one or the other gauge at any one given time...and not both concurrently. The one not running would be staged unseen in the back.

An interesting public display would be to run every gauge side by side to demonstrate the variety of model trains in the hobby...

Only problem liking more than 1 scale presents: for example in a few weeks I go to Trainworld...do I buy a WBB B&O GP9 on sale for 129 or do I buy the first LGB by Marklin (LGBBM?) loco I can afford: a ToyTrain 0-4-0 for 150? Probably gonna get the WBB, but still, it pains me!
