Back in the mid-90s, OGR produced a 16-volume video series called "O Gauge Railroading - The Video." They were released on VHS tape. I am trying to find the list of sequences contained in each video. If anyone has these videos, could you compile a list of the sequences for me? CLICK HERE to Email them to me.

I produced those videos for the former owner of OGR, Myron Biggar. That's how I got to know Myron and is how we ultimately made the deal to purchase the company from Myron back in 2002. However, my records on those old videos are long gone, lost in a move to a new video suite back in 2000. I still have the 1-inch tape masters here and I plan to digitize them into the MAC soon. But I would like to know what's on each tape before I rack it up and start playing it on my old Ampex VPR-80 1-inch tape machine. The Ampex still works, but it has the be very close to the end of its useful life.

There are some timeless sequences on those videos that we may want to re-release in our OGR Video On Demand channel.

In addition to that old Ampex 1-inch machine, I have a working Ampex CVR-75 Betacam SP machine (it's a Sony BVW-75 with Ampex badging), a Sony VO-9850 3/4" machine, a Sony BVU-850 3/4" machine, a JVC D9 (Digital S format) and a JVC Mini-DV machine. They all work and they are all interfaced with the MAC so I can control them from the MAC keyboard. All of them (except the 1-inch) input to the MAC in component mode. Using my AJA Kona LHi capture card, I can upsample the old SD stuff to 720p with very good results.

When I get my studio set up in the new house in Columbus late this year, I may advertise a service for legacy tape  conversions to digital...as long as the tape machines still work! The CVR 75 upper drum is nearing the end of its life, but I don't know how many hours it has on it because the little digital readout timer doesn't work any more. New ones are still available...for about $2,000!
