A freight offering and a passenger offering in prewar colors would be fun. I will be ordering at least 1 in the prototypical paint scheme but could be in for more if they have a good variety of choices.

at least four road names on the SD45........ a tuxedo....... a worm....... a goat....... and a shield....... found them on the web this afternoon.....
No SD45...... as far as I know. Maybe something like it in 7 road names.
You guys probably guessed that I was kidding all along ��........but, Lionel would probably do OK if they adopted my predictions.
Look how neat these sets would be:
1stthe LionChief Plus sets. both of these would be cool. The dual can motors with traction tires and the return of the die cast frame would make these great pullers....
The next four pages have 2 O gauge and then 2 SuperO sets......they would be sweet with can motors, traction tires and command control operating cars. I would certainly bite for a set or 2, or 3.........��
Just my 2 cents.....well, we'll know soon enough tomorrow.....

Nothing really new in the Tooling aspect. A lot of re-issued tooling. I mean its things we haven't seen in a few years. But you know how Lionel is.... They bring back old Tooling put new electronics in it, add a duel smoke unit with a hole by the whistle for your whistle steam effect, and then charge an arm and a leg for it.
Yes: I am doing an all nighter.
24 Hour Restaurant, 4.3 Miles from my Train Room.
Maybe the catalog will come out 5:30 AM EST, I may even do some dumpster diving at Lionel's Printing Plant, looking for out take sheets from the printing press.

I do love to see new modern freight car tooling! Just for me, wish there were a few more things offered...
The Lionel Catalogs...The worst kept secret since the ending of the movie "Titanic". Years a go the leaks were all over the place. For a short time Lionel was pretty good at keeping everything close to the vest. The last few catalogs though started leaking again like a screen door bottom boat. Still for the most part they do an alright job keeping most of the catalog itself under wraps but the content starts leaking once the dealer get their price sheets and share them with their customer base.
I guess I'm happy being surprised. I look forward to all the catalog releases. And by the way...the boat sinks.

You're supposed to say Spoiler Alert!!! Great now it's ruined for me.
Just kidding and thanks for the good laugh Marty. I've been reading up on shipwrecks since I was a small child, and I remember when that movie came out in the late 90s I would discuss it in school. Some of my classmates genuinely had no idea the ship sank and were upset I had ruined the movie ending.
As for the catalog (to keep my post on topic) I haven't seen it yet but I am looking forward to the Nickel Plate 587. With the toy train market the way it is now, at least as I see it, manufactures are going to get the most bang for their buck front the tooling they have before throwing down $100-250K on entirely new tooling. We saw this with the last MTH catalog too.

Well I had to look and the AC-9 is listed on their site already. 3 versions of it. I won't tell the versions so it leaves as a surprise in the catalog, but they do put something in the features I find a little different. Here's what it says.
- NOTE: Due to the gearing of this locomotive for prototypical speed operation, it will not have the same speed table as other LEGACY® locomotives and will not lash-up with other command-control engines

This seems to be a mistake. It appears to apply to the Shay not the AC-9s.
