I have been thinking, yes; big problems coming, to build a live steam engine and may be some how adapt it to run on O scale tracks or even butcher some O scale steam engine and adapt the Live steam to fit inside it and run it on the tracks. I am mechanically ok but do not have any machining equipments.

If you have any constructive ideas and/or concerns, please share it.

an example of a steam engine. Of course there are others...

If it has destructions and no machining is needed I think I can build it. I ran a live steam loco a few years ago and I found it to be very exciting, so I'd like to build a steam engine and perhaps run it on a track somehow...I am looking for every one's ideas.

I could never build one, so it would be bought ready to run.

Anything is possible and this idea sounds like it could be a lot of fun to do. But considering the fact that I have about ten thousand fun ideas sitting on the back burner waiting for my present projects to get done I will be waiting for your live three rail engine on these pages completion to prove the point.

I remember back in the late 1950s, a friend of mine, who was a Towerman on the DL&W RR, had a double track 2-Rail O SCALE system in his basement. He had two O SCALE live steam locomotive models, and the DC track power operated a some sort of servo motor to control the throttle. Both models burned alcohol as I recall.
