Probably not. The two-car DMU's are the only traffic here, and their appearance is predictable (note that the vendors clear their wares well in advance of the train), not to mention the area is a low-speed zone, probably 10MPH or less.

 

It's most likely just like light-rail/tram cars passing through a pedestrian mall, only more crowded.

Yes.....they could. But so could I when I drive my car. Does that mean I quit driving?

And all that without OSHA. Amazing the resilience of the human being. Self preservation is above most else. Perhaps if they thought they could count on someone like OSHA to protect them, then yes, they might not be as vigilant...and one might die.

But....no one did. Please investigate and come back and tell us about the death/injury rate over the period of time that this has been in existence. I am most curious.
