I have this happen before on and off and seems to be a winter problem more so than summer. As I roll up the thumbwheel speed expecting 1-2-3-4 smph I'll get 1-3-6 smph and so on. I've even had it go from 1 to 7 or so. Is this a thumbwheel going bad? Is it dirty? I notice that on decreasing speed it's fine.

Thanks, Scott

I used CRC Brakeleen on a northeastern track cleaning car, and it dissolved a plastic truck.

That's kind of a different animal...it's not intended to be a contact cleaner. It has acetone in it as well as other plastic dissolving chemicals. The contact cleaners and preservers by Caig Laboratories such as Deoxit are probably the best.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Bottom line is that if I want to use some Deoxit I have to open up the remote -- ugh. Now that you mention it though I do have a remote with a dead display that's already open. I can take a look at that to see where the contacts are if I want to try to clean them. Totally agree with you John on the thumbwheel. Not a good design.

Thanks, S
