Lash Ups..

FYI "Lash-up" is a toy train term used by one manufacturer to describe "consists". Its use is looked down upon by some of the more prototypically minded. Drives um nuts (namely our host Rich). The fact your instructions use the term is of little consolation, it still drives um nuts. Fair warning!   

 

My understanding is that it is best not to mix Legacy and TMCC engines in the same lash-up/consist/MU (or whatever you want to call it ).  I do believe some people have success mixing them by configuring the Legacy engine as TMCC.

I've had very poor results with TMCC/Legacy MU configurations, but multiple Legacy or PS/2 MU configurations tend to work very well.

 

If you're going to try with TMCC locomotives, turn off any cruise control and then run them separately using the same numbers a foot apart on the track.  If one is noticeably faster than the other, you'll probably have problems.

 

And I seem to remember that you should make the TMCC locomotive the lead engine.

Well I have TMCC and the other named Legacy lashed up and ready to go! they just run fine together...

 

 

J Daddy....do you run with cruise control OFF or ON, or does it matter in what you have

tested?

They both use the term

LOL... Actually the above picture is a pun on the word Lashup...

My preference is to never mix the two. I would run through a few set ups using the legacy instruction guide and see what works the best! 

 

 

I have ran lashup with TMCC and Legacy engine(s)   I believe Lionel manual says to run Legacy engine first.  which is what I have done.  I did not change any features of any engines.
