A few years ago I was in need of a gas station for my layout. At the time I was into postwar trains and wanted something that was sort of realistic but still not a true scale model. I eventually went the cardstock route and drew up a little station that was a cross between a vintage rural station and a Marx tin plate gas station from the 1930's. Since then I have progressed from postwar semi-scale to tinplate fun-scale.  lol

I have been reworking the layout to reflect a more toy train vibe and I finally decided to redo the gas station. Working from the original drawings I back dated (simplified) the details and altered the color scheme a bit to look like two color lithography. I did however experiment with some "yellowing" of the white areas on some sections of the building. Also added fake tabs to the roof
