Hey gang

Work is progressing on the layout and here is a little series of video updates of the finished (for the most part) parts.

Part 1: Sweeping curve- Here is a curve I wrapped up in January.....just a typical mix of cuts and retaining fill common to the B&O West End.

Part 2: Concrete viaduct- This is something I finished in early March and modeled after the concrete viaduct at Bloomington MD. The bridge is made of poplar, and some pine trim from Lowes....

Part 3: High Cut & Wooden Road Bridge- another common sight in my home state....the water crossing transitions into a high cut......the road bridge was scratch built as well.....

Enjoy! More updates coming in the summer......

Paul,

I was going to respond in a haiku but couldn't get my syllables in the proper number.

As someone with a somewhat narrow and long space beset with furnace, sump pump, shelving etc., I always looked to your work as a real inspiration in what I might be able to do in 2R.

I seem to recall your salient observations here a few years ago about the joy of O vs. HO in that less is more. It certainly is. It also tends to be more work than HO which is blessed with a wide array of wonderful products.

I guess I just like the fun of being a bit off the normal path of HO (too many years in N did that). And no, John Albee, (if you're lurking), I don't want the added challenge of S. Ha!

Thank you, Paul, for your work.

A small layout space,

Is a challenge to the mind

But yields great results.

Great work, Paul. I have collected the photos you've posted of your layout as you've done a phenomenal job. Inspirational.

Don, just outstanding work.  What an inspiration to everyone to strive for the level of realism you have achieved on the railroad.

Paul! Big fan of your work my friend....you have a great eye for modeling and color and the pike has a great shortline feel. We will have to connect some time...not sure if you get up to Maine very often...we are right off 95 near Portland....
