I finally had the time to permanently "plant" my tree's and add a few details. The tree's are made from Woodland Scenic's "Fine Foliage"; attached with Hob-e-tac, and dusted with a coating of unscented hairspray. Then I attached the tree bases to the layout using my hot glue gun, and touched up with assorted ground turf. For my first attempt at scenery, I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished. I'll add some dead fall and a "critter" to two shortly.

Country Joe: really, it is. In my involvement with HO and G scale trains, I never got around to the scenery part. I made up my mind that this time, pass or fail, I was going to do it. I knew I wanted to "try" to model autumn....I had a very basic picture in mind, and tried to make it happen.

Again, I really appreciate the support.

I finally got the chance to catch up on a bit of layout work. This time it was streets, sidewalks and foundations. I used 1/4" hardboard for foundations and sidewalks, and 1/8" for streets. The streets were are 5" wide, the sidewalks are 2". I will detail and weather the sidewalks tomorrow probably using 2"spacing; the roads will be striped as well.

I primed the streets with flat black, then used Rust-oleum Aged Iron to finish. The sidewalks and foundations were primed in grey, then shot with Rust-oleum Desert Bisque. Each of the colored paints has a textured finish to it.

I would like to thank "Chugman" Art for his advice on this latest project. His suggestions "cleared the fog" and got me going.

A few new shots:
