Depends if the cat is hungry.  A house fed cat brings trophies.  A cat that lives outside eats them, head first right down to the tail just like an Egret eats a fish, I.e. straight in.

Also not true about mice avoiding a trap after it has caught the first mouse.  I reset them all the time and catch another.

Dennis,

You must have some stupid mice, as all the mice my sister had avoided any & all traps after the first one got caught, we even used new traps with peanut butter. The only thing to get caught after the first mouse at my sister's was her baby daughter's foot in a trap.

So out the traps went and in came her street kitty and caught about 8 mice and the house remained clean after that.

Hi everyone hope everyone is OK. I know this story is off the topic but I have to share it. When I was A kid the hole family was up at the camp in Tionesta PA. We were having mice problems and dad had put some mice traps up on the roof trusses (The camp was not finished yet). We all had settled down at the same time to go to sleep. Everything got real quiet and (WHACK) the mouse trap went off. My sister was on A single fold up cot the mouse and trap fell off the roof truss and hit her ion the face. The back legs started kicking around flopping off her face onto the cot and she started screaming bloody murder. All of us put our flashlights on to see what was going on. As A kid seeing this going on was extremely funny to me and I was laughing my head off. My sister did not seem to like me laughing at her and then she decided to beat me up for laughing at her. It was worth the woopin I took because still to this day when I think about the incident I still laugh my head off. Choo Choo Kenny
