I see they have a few left on the online store. Does anyone have any real pics of this to share. Of the main unit and chassis etc? Thanks!

Yeah I found that one. The engines look good. I am hoping the LCCA inventory is sealed. I am assuming these are like the PW NW-2's but with a vertical can motor and new tooling diecast trucks.

They are like the PW switcher. The vertical can motor is there but the trucks are from
the scale F-3.
For what it's worth, those early EMD stitchers NEVER came with F unit type trucks.
A good running set for Conventional operation. Detail is great, sound is average.
Great pics and good looking NW-2. Thanks!
Is there a reason the scale bloomberg trucks were chosen vs the pw style which have been used by Lionel on the "second generation" NW-2's?
According to my understanding, they used Bloomberg trucks because the molds existed, and they did not have funds for a new mold.

I believe that is the case. Without Lou being here, I can not answer definitively.

Yes but why the scale trucks vs the readily availble Postwar bloomberg tooling...used on all PW style F3's and the NW-2 with sheet metal frame.
To answer my own question I assume the scale bloomberg truck was readily tooled to handle the can motor...hence it was used.
