Yes.  As i understand it the DB-9 connects from the Base to the first LCS module.  I plan to have the WiFi module as my first and then add the Sensor Track.  I am planning to eventually have 6-10 sensor tracks spread between my to main loops and then adding ASC-2 modules until all my remote switches are hooked in.  May have to add the switch monitoring module if the switch auto trips don't show up on the iPad.

You got it!

You will need the STM to display the switch position when tripped by the non derailing feature.

What good are the cables without the wifi and sensor track!

I am very disappointed. That OGAUGERR sponsor has lost this customer for now and likely forever.

Fortunately other OGAUGERR sponsors have the items in stock and I have reordered them.

Thanks MartyE for the feedback.

Adding a STM to my list.  The items I have ordered are on the way and should show up 3/21/15 (correction).  Looking forward to their arrival.

There is at least one forum sponsor on here that does not show wether an item is in stock or not until after you order.  I only checked that dealer after my dealer showed no inventory of an item.  I had a couple of items I wanted.  I emailed the dealer to inquire about stock on hand before ordering.  The only item they had were the cables.  At that point, I just decided to wait for my preferred dealer to get the items back in stock.

I do not like places that do not show if the item is in stock or not.  If items in your order are not in stock, they should email you to let you know before they partial ship the order.  That way you can cancel and go somwhere else to find the items in stock.

That is why I like dealing with Nassau Hobby Center.  They have one of the better sites.  If it can be placed in your cart, that means it is in stock.  If you are getting the last item, it will show out of stock after you place the item in your cart.  I like that feature because you can still browse the site without worrying if someone else will be able to get the item before you fill your cart and checkout.

I understand if items are sold out.  I just want to be told before I order not, recieve an email on the day the order is to arrive saying I will not get what I ordered (strongly agree with jpcommons comment).

I did find and order the wifi and sensor track but, that would have been easier to do whe I was originally ordering.  In my view the seller mislead me and waisted my time.

Water under the bridge... Waiting for the wifi and sensor track to arrive.  Cables all installed and ready to plug in (some use in just getting the cable in).

It's actually a piece of cake, and it works perfectly.  It's been posted here for a number of track systems, I'll give you the "Cliff Notes" version, this is for Atlas track, but Gargraves or Ross track would be virtually identical.  It turns out that the base of the sensor track is just about exactly the height of the Atlas ties and the cork base we were using.

  • Remove the bottom plate and the two boards from the Sensor track to avoid damaging them and set them aside.
  • Remove the rails from the plastic base by bending the inside tabs and pulling them off.
  • Knock the nubs off the plastic that aligned the track on the base and leave the top smooth with no projections.
  • Take the piece of your brand of track and remove the ties for the length of the plastic base of the sensor track.
  • Replace the removed boards and protective plate on the sensor track.
  • Slide it under the modified track section and align the sensors, then secure the base to the layout.  You can also align it and glue the bottom of the rail to the sensor track base if you like.
  • Enjoy your sensor track on the track brand of your choice.

Here's one of the threads for doing this with Ross track.  Note that we didn't have to worry about damaging the electronics because they're easy to remove and set aside, no possibility of damaging them in the alteration process.

Here's a shot of the simple way I described using Atlas track.  There's no need to try to mount the logic and sensor boards independently, and the sensor track base exactly matched the height of the cork roadbed and the Atlas tie section that was removed.  The ballast was just tossed in to illustrate how easy it is to blend the sensor track into the rest of the track.
