I have had Legacy for about 8 years and have never had any signal problems between the Cab 2 and base unit until about 2 weeks ago. Walking around the layout (9 x 13), I would lose communication between the Cab 2 and base, in certain locations. The base is located under the layout, on a sliding shelf, so I thought perhaps I would have to move it to the top of the layout. I thought of putting it inside of a plastic Rico Station, which would be pretty simple, or mount it on the outside of a cabinet. I then remembered being under the layout a couple of weeks ago, seeing the antenna on the base unit in a horizontal position, and flipping it to a straight vertical position. Before doing anything, else I placed the antenna back into the horizontal position, behind the base unit. Signal problem gone. I can again roam all around the layout, and can even go out of the train room, and blow the whistle from 15 feet down the hallway. It was a simple correction for me and perhaps, it might help others with a similar signal problem.
