I cant even think, I wanna cry.

This is my old layout engine yard. Korber roundhouse with a smoke generator and adjustable pipes for smoke going to all three stalls.  Haven't started the new yard section yet. Don

Here's a couple of my yard's one is at the coal mine and the one is at the upper yard for the saw mill and you can see a lower yard that was empty .

Wow, very impressive everybody!  John/tr18, that is a very serious looking control panel as well.

We need to see some of these layouts featured in OGR!

OMG John, your control panels look like works of art and you have every train I am planning to buy, in your rail yard!

Also, "Guy" how big is your train room?

Small layout, not a lot of yard area.

Looks great, what is the layout size?

Chipset  my train room is 20ft.x51ft. what you can see is only about 1/4 of it, the upper yard hold's about 100 car's ,the lower yard hold's about 200 car's, the yard by the coal mine hold's about 75 car's and there is a yard under the mountain that hold's about 110 car's, I'm working on a grain mill yard that will hold about 55 car's, you can see more post of my platform in Scenery and Structures .

Guy - You have some beautiful and serious yards there.  Most of us don't have the space for yards that large.  It looks like you spaced your tracks fairly close together too.  How far apart are they?  Nice job.

Great looking yards John.  It's really hard to find the space for a descent intermodal yard in O gauge.

Art the spacing is 3 1/2 " center to center rail's just enough room to get your finger's in to pick up the car's if they go off the rail , I took some more picture's of the lower yard that has car's in it now and one of the mill yard I going to post more of the mill when it is done .

Just to be clear, these pictures are of the NLOE club layout. The first picture is of our "west side yard". The control panel for this is mounted below grade.

I really liked Dewey Trogdon's yard area and am actually patterning mine after his. Hope he doesn't mind my posting pics of his yard area....

 

 

He's previously posted at least one more looking back towards the engine house from the water tower area. Perhaps he'll repost it. I didn't see it scrolling back through his previous posts.

Guy - I have 4 1/2" centers on all my yards and it does restrict the number of tracks.  Love your grain elevators in your last pictures too.  You have a lot of yard capacity, it must make for some awesome operating sessions.

Alan, could you please tell me how wide your benchwork is at the freight yard, and the aisle width?

Hi Brian....the width of the freight yard is 4 feet and the aisle width is 32 inches...

You are certainly welcome Brian!  My freight yard is a double ended design.  In a previous layout, it was a single ended design.
