Lionel Golden Logo Rematch at LCCA’s 44th Annual Convention in Indy

The gauntlet has been thrown, the challenge has been accepted, the stage is set,  the rematch is on!   Let’s Get Ready to Rumble in Indy!  LCCA’s Pullman Heavy weights Al Kolis and Dennis DeVito will  take on the young upstart Lionel team consisting of Mike Reagan and Meegan Untereker in a Lionel FasTrack layout building contest at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis IN during the LCCA’s 44th Annual Convention.  The team who can build the randomly selected track plan the fastest; will walk away with the Lionel Golden Logo prize.  This classic battle will be a rematch of the event held during Lionel’s March 22 Red Carpet Event in Concord NC.  Team Lionel won the first extremely close contest on a technicality, so the LCCA wants a rematch at a neutral sight.

The winning team will go home with the Lionel Golden Logo, while the second place team will have to go home with their ego’s   bruised (see attached photo).  Come to the Marriott East Hotel on Friday, July 25, at 4:30 PM and cheer Team LCCA on to victory over our friends at Lionel.   We hope to see you all there in Indy!   GO LCCA!!!!

I am rooting for Mike and Meegan for one reason only.....

If Mike loses, he will be depressed during his inspection, quality control of the Big Boy when he leaves for China.

Remember, he knows who has ordered, and who he can modify certain aspects of the Big Boy!

You really do not want the Whistle Steam operating when you select the Steam Blowdown and vice versa!

Owen,

When  we had the first match in Concord NC, the judges were from Lionel and the track layouts were designed and selected by members of the Lionel Team.  It is a judgement call on which team completes the track layout first.   Team LCCA lost on a judgement call.  This time I am certain we can find an "unbiased" LCCA member to judge.  Maybe, Ed Boyle will even volunteer to be a Judge.

Good idea since Ed said he was going to root for everyone.  Looking at the pictures from the last one, this event looks to be a hoot!  Very good idea to all who have been involved!

Big Mike must be in China; otherwise he would have chimed in by now saying:

"Let the judging begin; I LIKE throwing folks in the pool!"

I'll be there and I cannot wait to see the outcome of this one!

Besides, maybe Big Mike will throw ME in the pool which is OK 'cause its hot & muggy this time of year in Indy...

Best,

Dave

Ed Boyle

Ed,  have you ever considered a career in politics? I think the winning team should get to throw Ed into the pool!

I like the idea of the winning team throwing Ed Boyle into the pool.  The second place team has to rescue him with no mouth to mouth recitation allowed.

Congratulations to Team Lionel,  On this specific day, Mike Reagan and Meegan Untereker just had too much experience with assembling Lionel FasTrack railroad layouts.  Team LCCA tried their best, but it just wasn't enough today.  Thank you Lionel, this event was a lot of fun!

As a witness to the Build Off, it was lots of fun watching Al & Dennis attempt to put together their layout.  Meegan & Mike assembled their identical layout in about half the time, then offered to help Al & Dennis finish assembling their layout.  Wonderful Sportsmanship.  Will post some pics here in the thread after I get some sleep.
