Thanks for the kind comments. This was last year's layout, this year's layout is not yet started. Note how my wife supports the Christmas layout by having it right in the center of the family room. The Gilbert trains and accessories on the layout are all my original childhood presents.

Very nice - I really like the height on that...Im trying to keep mine above adult knee level.

Despite the little issues, Lionel hit the S gauge PE out of the park.  Other than the high doller Legacy berk with high doller add on tender and expensive coaches, the S gauge one follows the movie the closest and looks the best scale wise.  Now only if big L would give the S gauge PE line up the attention and accessories the O gauge line gets.   Great layouts.  If I can get some of my 2 rail O stuff sold, I will have a PE set before Christmas.   Mike

The issues seem to be hit or miss, most of the issues I could remedy myself and it wont be my only train, so if it needs to got back for repair, so be it.  Still a beautiful model. Had Lionel done the PE O gauge Berkshire like the postwar 736, it would have looked better.  Seems most of the issues are more to broken off wires that need to be slightly lengthened and resoldered.  I do agree that it is a shame that the set has had this many issues.   Espically has nicely done as it looks.  I am still getting one and building a PE layout.   Mike and Michele T
