I recently acquired a MTH reissue of the American Flyer 785 coal loader. Never had one before. It's a really fun accessory.

 The really good news is that straight sections of SHS track and AF Fastrack fit inside the molded base of the unit as if it was designed that way.

That is because the stamped steel base of the original was fashioned to allow the use of Gilbert's rubber roadbed. The thinking was done in New Haven ~ 60 years ago.
