This may be too early to ask, but on best guess, about how much would it be to ship the set?

Are there seated passengers in the cars or are they empty like the other 21" Lionel cars in the new catalog?

Personally, I can't imagine Lionel producing passenger cars w/o seated passengers nowadays.  MTH's first ABS cars with detailed interiors had no passengers, but that was back in the late 1990's / early 2000's.  Now MTH produces cars with 10-12 people per car.  Not a lot, but it's better than nothing.  15+ years later and any importer producing cars with no passengers just seems like a bad short-cut IMHO.

Are the add-on cars pre-order also? I'm eventually going to want the whole train....

No problem, these sets are not due till Dec. 2015.
