Here are my scratchbuilt Automax carriers combined with four Lionel AutoRacks.  (Two from the first batch and two from the recent batch.

Great job, Lionel in delivering amazing 1:48 auto racks.  This is a tribute to your commitment to 1:48 modern rolling stock!  We look forward to your new 86' Auto Parts Box Cars.!!!

There is a combination of Kadees and lobster claws on this train.  The locos leading are 2r/3r MTH premier sd70aces.

Gentleman, thanks for the nice comments about the Automax cars.

What this video is implying , however, is that WE HAVE NOTHING FROM MTH TO RUN WITH THEIR DIESELS!!!!

In the above video, you see two very nice (and affordable) 2-rail SD70Aces from MTH.  But there is nothing from MTH (including the new catalog from today) to run them with.  So people like myself are forced to scratchbuild relevant rolling stock and pair them up with 1:48 modern prototypes from Lionel and Atlas, etc.

I really wish MTH would step up with something like the Automax or maybe some 53' container cars.  I think we on the 3rS and 2r forums would devour large quantities of an offering like that.

I remain dedicated to buying MTH fixed-pilot locos, but I'm very frustrated at them ignoring the rolling stock issue.

Martin, I couldn't agree with you more.  Not much in terms of rolling stock in the latest MTH catalog.
