Pop the shell and take a pic...maybe we can get this fixed...

I thought only "I" did this!  My GP38 took a header onto concrete as well.  I was amazed that only the plastic truck covering was ruined.  I was actually able to find them at Lionel.com.  When on that site you need to click on "Customer Services" and select "Replacement Parts" from the drop down.  I had a heck of a time finding it. I can't find an "insert link"here so I needed to put the whole thing below.  Hope it is what you need.

Nice job Selrahc on providing that link for RParmentier...

I have also flipped an engine off the table.  It isn't the disaster you think at the moment it happens.  Lionel.com has done a good job of providing parts for modern equipment.  I don't even think the prices are outrageous.  Their packaging and delivery are very quick.

It may be a little intimidating at first but it isn't that hard to pull these babies apart and replace powered trucks, sound boards, lights, couplers, smoke units, etc.  Go slow, ask questions and give it a try....

Thanks Wood.  I've had three "disasters" with trains going off the track, onto the concrete floor.  I sure hope I've learned something, finally.  Each time, I've picked everything up, put it on the table and walked away.  I really get upset.  The latest was the Lionel O Gauge LRRC Spec. Edition 4-6-2 Pacific Steam Locomotive I bought on EBay and I was sickened.  I was also amazed and how it came through  nearly unscathed.  Replaced a couple of cheap parts and off it went. I'm a heck of a lot more careful now.
