Since Lionel is releasing a Fall 2013/2014 preview/2013 Vol 2 catalog on Wed., I wonder if any S scale is contained in it? Last year S scale was in the back of Vol 2 and not a stand alone catalog like in the spring.

I would like to think both engines illustrated on the cover are A.F. offerings.
There was an individual S gauge Flyer catalog released for 2013.
Exactly. There was an individual catalog in 2012 also. In the fall of 2012, the Lionel Vol 2 catalog contained both O gauge and an S gauge section.
Tune in on the 4th.

Wednesday the 11th would be better.

Sorry, my calendar's running slow... Forgot to wind it...

I do not see this on Lionel Web Site and today is the 12th. Where is this new Catalog posted?
Will be posted Friday morning at 9am
According to the O Gauge side, there's five pages of Flyer in the back. Whether there's anything new or just previously cataloged stuff there remains to be seen.
I would expect two of those pages would be a reprise of the Berkshire sets, this time with pricing information, so that leaves three pages for other things.

5 pages of A.F.? There's got to be something scintillating in there that we all must have. We're not completely bled dry yet.

Yep, probably more exciting make believe, non prototypical artwork that apparently all Flyer people are craving for, just like the 'O' gauge clan!!
I haven't seen the catalog yet -- perhaps someone can tell me if the American Flyer Nickel Plate Road Berkshire 6-49633 set had a price attached to it yet..?
Thx
pre order pricing that was on the O gauge thread supposedly from the catalog. The S gauge is towards the end. Reasonable pricing.
thanks. I'll check it when I get home -- legacystation is blocked here at work.

So, nothing really new, apparently.

OK, so it's after 9:00 a.m. and I still do not see the Fall catalog on Lionel's site. Does anyone have a link to this catalog?

Nothing new to see here folks -- move along, move along.
yup, another year without a "S" gauge RDC Budd liner set. .............. oh well.
EDIT: Sorry guys, didn't realize I was in the S forum.
Ah well... though I'm not into the modern diesels or traditional AF, I would propose that Lionel is to be commended for bringing some new items to S scale over the past couple years. Yay Lionel.
Perhaps us Old Farts that model the 50's, 60's, etc will like what Mikey's going to offer in his brand-spankin' new (to him) S line once he's up to speed?
Go Mikey.

CTT did an interview with Mike a couple months ago. He mentioned that there was a lot of interest in their S gauge line, but that the market would dictate their pace. So basically, anyone that wants MTH to make newly tooled S gauge product had better start buying these early SHS reissues. It sure sounds like if they don't see the orders come rolling in that new tooling is unlikely.
I can understand Mikey's "show me the money" attitude. I'll try to purchase what is good for my layout's theme/era and what I can use. Only so much money to play with.
I think one of the greatest attractions to model railroading, the ability to be individualized, is the greatest weakness in terms of mfg'ers, too much individualism.
Ah well, it is what it is.
They need to make LCS available in the AF fastTrack
