Should I weather my Lionel FasTrack and if so with what? Easiest method preferred.

I did a search under weathering Lionel Fastrack and the first topic listed dating back 2012 has a great link to what you need as far as weather Fastrack. Hope this helps.

Some ballast and paint helps too

The 2012 article by Jim A. shows the best method (in my opinion).
Instead of adding more ballast to the existing, he simply weathers the plastic and then applies some green ground foam along the edge of the base to give the appearance of nature creeping up into the trackbed edges. His is one of the few Fastrack layouts where the trackage doesn't look "stuck on" to the table surface.

I had seen Rick's work and decided that I needed to do something. I used the Woodland Scenics Train painter. You could do the same with paint and a small brush but the pen was easier to handle. To add another lever of detail, I painted the targets on the switch lanterns.

RickO,
Do you have anymore photos of your layout? This looks really good and “clean”.
One of our forum members weathered his FasTrack like this. Ties and rail painted and ballast.
Edit: After a search for him, I wanted to give credit to @mikeowen17 for this ballasting effort(picture). Unfortunately he had to dismantle his loft layout. One of the nicest in a small space. He has some layout leftovers for sale. Check it out

Train Watcher,
I did not even weather my FT, I want our train room to look like a child wonderland, realism with my mostly Tin Plate Train Room is by no means a requirement. However the men have given some real nice ways you can weather and make the FT look realistic.
