I have one the non Vision Lionel Genset locomotives (6-28355) which has an access door that swings down to allow access to controls such as smoke on/off, volume, etc.  Unfortunately, the door does not stay closed when swung up.  I see there is a magnet on the top right side of the recessed controls area and was wondering is anyone had one of these to see if there is supposed to be magnets in both corners.  Its either I am missing a magnet or the one I have is not properly placed or just plain weak.

Any suggestions on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated!

Just a weak magnet I guess

Check to see if the door closes and the magnet is what stops it, if not that's why it flops open. Pretty easy to check the magnet strength with a piece of steel or small screw driver. Do like these things where you don't have to pick up and turn locomotives over to adjust settings.

After closer inspection, it appears the inlaid piece of metal that belongs glued to the door was stuck to the magnet.  I just pulled it off, cleaned of the old glue and re-glued it.  Thanks guys for the tips!
