Help,  trying to add a legacy H16-44 engine to my layout. I have 2 tracks with separate TPC and separate power supplies.  Will I be able to transfer between tracks with the legacy and traditional engines. I'm having trouble getting the legacy engine to activate, do I use the engine button or the track button to program the TPC. The TPC I programed the track light is constantly blinking.  Like to have running for guests this weekend.

I was able to run 2 traditional engines and transfer tracks before

Thanks

I purchased a brand new Santa Fe Dash 9 Legacy locomotive that when I placed her on the track, she flashed her cabin light and that was all she did no matter what I did. I hope your situation is not like mine. I would suggest you take the loco off the track. Pull power and check to make sure every switch is in the correct position. Then make sure nothing else is on that track. Start everything over again, apply power and see if she takes. If not, it is just possible you have a bad locomotive. I hope that is not the case. As it was in mine, but I was lucky and live very close to my train store. They took her back and I exchanged her for another locomotive that works great.

I do pray that you get this locomotive working. I feel your pain.

Gentlemen,

I highly recommend you watch the Lionel Legacy Instructional Videos available free on the Net, the instructions are step by step as to how you start and activate the Legacy Base & Engines, using the modules and the Read Button for programming.

The Legacy is user friendly but you must learn how to use it.  If you can not activate your Legacy Engine, chances are you are not following the Lionel Legacy video instructions.

Take your PC right to the tacks with you, and follow along using the instructions as you set everything up.  I am new to Legacy myself, followed the Legacy Video instructions and my Legacy Shay engine operates perfectly on my multi level FasTrack Christmas layout, CC FT switches & all.
