Re: Lionel LEGACY diesel shorting out (PLEASE HELP)

I have an issue with my CSX SD80-MAC #809.

I got it for Christmas this past year, and it has ran fine up to now. I had stupidly removed the rear truck by turning it 90 degrees and removing the molex connector that connects it to the motor inside the engine. When it starts moving the power to the track I have it on just shorts out. I removed the shell from the engine to see if there were any loose wires, and there didn't appear to be any. I also tried resetting and reprograming the engine into my legacy remote. So far, nothing has worked.

Any additional help, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the truck and see if the loop with wire is touching the wheels .. Sometimes they get loose and do this ..

Could have insulation broken, or the wire is pinched. G

Check to see if there were any paper washers that isolated the frame from the shell. This happened to me with my Santa Fe AC6000. I didn't have one of them in place and it shorted out until I opened it up and saw one out of place inside frame.
