Hello everyone,

I happen to be new to model railroading and am considering on purchasing the Lionel Neil Young Signature Line.  Can anyone share their opinion and/or experience with this product or even video as  I have not been able to locate on the web?

TIA for any and all responses.

I have the Texas Special passenger set (ABA) with the add-on 2 car set and both the engines and aluminum passenger cars are beautiful. I have the Pennsy ABA set with the K-line 15" eight car Era of Modernism aluminum passenger cars (which are the same as the Lionel cars but with different diaphragms), they too are beautiful. As the Lionel description states they are modeled after their famous post war F3's but with all the features of the modern Legacy engines. The engines run as nice as any of my other Legacy engines. New sets are out there at various price points.

I do not have a video but here's one of the Texas Special set I found on the web. Although it's noted to be a full set there is one passenger car missing (unless I miscounted). The full set is the AA units, non-powered B, powered B, the 4 cars from the set and the 2 car add-on set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ2PYRe0auA

I agree with the reasoning on the green being lighter to ensure there is no confusion with black.

There is a large variance in the use of the name, to ID various colors over the years.

Origin in some German or Dutch town phonetically similar in name. Dark green with yellow red, metal hues.

In PRR shops it was "dark green locomotive enamel" on the cans or barrels I think. A dark green near black, but turned more green from weathering as a copper pigment in the green changed patina to become greener but its still dark.

The first run of post war Lionel GG-1 units, the green to black ratio used was actually reversed in the mixing of the color, and those engines will be so black you must catch them in the right light to see the green at all. "Hens teeth" but now you know about a rare item to watch out for at the yardsale too

I think its very regal, and elegant. Especially with gold/amber.

Reminds me of Jaguar's darker greens.

It runs great and looks good to this Pensy fan. I just wished that the extra two pack of cars wasn't so darn expensive.

We have the add on cars on sale - $308.95+10 to ship....use coupon code MARIO20 and your total would be only $298.95 including delivery, here is the link:
Unless I misunderstood, it appears he is looking for the Pennsy add-on set, 6-25760.  The link is for the Texas Special.

Any video of this set anywhere on the web ??? Thx

I checked for the OP and could not find one but I did find one for the Texas Special set. I have the TS set and the separate purchase Pennsy ABA units with 8 of K-line's 15" Era of Modernism passenger cars which happen to be the same paint scheme. As noted by another forumite, the Pennsy Brunswick green is very dark as described by others.
