Paul,

I agree the LionChief Plus Camelbacks look good. They also are the same length as the Legacy Camelbacks that were offered in 2009 but never produced so they maybe close or scale sized.

You can do a search on LionChief Plus and find videos of the Pacific, Mike, and Hudson versions. Sound is as good as it gets the only drawback is the chuff is 2 per revolution not 4. You can hear for yourself once you do the search.

My train club buddy has a B&O Pacific and it pulls a ton.

Paul, I don't believe these engines have been released yet.  You have to remember that these LionChief + locomotives are mid range items and even though they have lots of great features they are not of Legacy quality.  I have two LionChief+ engines now and sounds are pretty generic but sufficient for my needs.  If you want RS5 or Legacy quality sounds then you may not be happy with these engines.

To me the LionChief+ engines are perfect for those operations where guests want to operate a train or to have new comers experience the features that O gauge trains offer.  I'm not a rivet counter and any train that runs on 3 rail track is still a "toy train" in my opinion.

I just got a LionChief Plus NYC Hudson last night. I tried it out and it seems like a very nice loco. Sounds very good to me and the remote is very easy to use. The cruise control feature is really nice. The loco runs at a constant speed, even when it's running quite slow. My layout is small and these traditional size trains are perfect for me.

Paul,

I am going off memory but I do not think the TMCC Camelbacks had cruise control. The Legacy Camelbacks were never made.  The lack of cruise control would explain the jack rabbit starts.

Those LionChief + engines can easily pull 20 + cars at a constant speed. I am a scale guy so most of the LionChief line is out for me but the Camelback maybe scale size so I am taking it into consideration.

I have the Mikado but its still NIB, but I saw a video on here of a review and it is 2 Chuff Per Revolution on these.  You must remember these are not top of the line and are more geared towards mid level enthusiasts who like to hear the chuffs which kinda disappear at high speeds if put at 3 to 4 per rev.

I tried ordering from Nassau but it says I cannot checkout and to contact the administrator.    These look pretty cool to me!
