Recently received Western Maryland #734 Steam Engine that was operating erratic out of the box, powered up when track power was applied, might run couple feet before stopping w/headlight flickering losing Legacy control, almost appeared to be ground control problem. Called Lionel service, was given an RA # and sent to them Monday of York week. Saw Mike R. at York on Thurs., told him of problem & he quickly indicated I had a ground plane problem & service would send the engine back with no problem found. Lionel received engine last Wed., sent back to me last Friday & I received today. Problem found, loose wire on front truck, replaced smoke unit, test ran for 4 hours. I ran it today, working great. What a turn around for a warranty repair!!! I am VERY pleased with the Lionel Service Dept., even though Mike R. had me concerned about his "ground plane" diagnostic at York. I still love you Mike, and your service guys/gals are top notch in my eyes!!!! What a quick repair. Keep up the good work Lionel.
