I just purchased some mint TMCC Alco Fa-2s. This is Lionels older style truck. There appears to be a motormount screw in the bottom. If I loosen this screw will it allow the truck to slip down a bit to get better access to the gearbox for grease?

I know loosening this motormount screw worked on Lionmaster steamers. I could roll the drivers a bit and expose the worm gear and allow me to shoot some grease in the gearbox.

It is open above the drive gear I suppose I could put my flexible syringe tip in there and get some grease in but it would be nice to have better access.

Tips/advice?

Heres the truck in question.

Hey Rick,

These are not fun to take apart, you have to take the cover plate off to properly grease the worm drive. this includes the center pick up screws.

Separating the motor from the truck is another great adventure....

Scratch that, these might not have a worm....odd all i see is the legacy version in the parts list...
